The South African vervet monkey is widespread in large numbers throughout South Africa. They live in groups of between 10 and 50 monkeys, with one or more males in the lead. The vervet monkeys are day-active and move primarily on the ground and in the tree tops. They feed on fruits, leaves, tubers, smaller animals and insects.

Due to their phenomenal eyesight, the hunt is made difficult and can present significant challenges.
